Because the opposite of Merry Christmas isn’t “Happy Holidays,” “Happy Festivus,” or “There is no God.”  The opposite of Merry Christmas is, “I hope your dog craps on your face to wake you up on December 25th.”

I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.
